Hello again everyone ;-)

This time I show you one of my most favorite Jackets.

When I was in the second hand shop I thought, take something that is usually not to be seen on the streets in terms of a fashion item and just make it one.

I thought of 'Biker meets Rock'A'Billy meets Skater' 

I love the 3 'monochrome' color mix ....

It's a long time ago I bought this piece. I almost can't remember how much I paid for it, I think it was around 50 Euro. 

After a while the zipper broke and I never got around fixing it and left it home at my parents place in the storage.

... I think it has a figure flattering effect on me, eh the model, hehe

Well I got it back and finally got the zipper replaced at an in leather specialized alteration service.

I wore it a good few times and of course still love it.

Alteration tips

Okay guys, back to basics after the exciting days at Dublin Fashion Festival

Shopping for a business suit is never easy, right guys.

Well, here some tips when buying a men's suit.

Again, it is important to know your size and if you are a short, regular or long.

( I posted a size chart, label 'Tools' on Sunday 02.09.12 )

The Short, Regular, and Long refers to the sleeve and trunk length of the jacket and the length of the trousers.

The number in the sizing of the jacket is referring to chest size and as for the trousers it is referring to the waist size and inner leg measurements.

NOTE, some stores allow to mix jackets and trousers in different sizes and lengths.

The sleeves should be approx a finger width above the thumb knuckle.

When it comes to the length of the trousers, always consider the shoes you would wear with the suit.

 And in case you want to let out a bit in your suit trouser. Check if the waist has enough fabric to make it wider.

Alteration ideas

Now, there am I again. Just back from the gym.

A few emails answered, a phone call and a shower later.

I was thinking, it is time again to present a new post:

Since I am in a total alteration rush, I thought I might as well start of with my ideas in relation to alteration.

I am 100% sure you all have clothes in your wardrobe that look a bit dated, are in good nick and you still love them, but they don't fit anymore.

An easy task actually, bring them to your alteration service.

Get creative and recycle your clothes.

Get them taken in or made wider or longer or shorter.

But stay within a healthy budget, be sure that it is really worse money wise to recycle clothing.

Always confirm your ideas with your Tailor and see if he reckons it is do-able what you have on mind or on a piece of paper.

I had a few tops recently or work shirts which didn't fit right anymore.

A few I got taken in on the sides and on the sleeves.

A long-sleeve I got made longer by opening up the bottom seam to elongated it

and it they supported with a kick band.
And I got it made a bit tighter too by taking in the sides.

For others that got too tight, I bought black fabric.

My tailor let the fabric in on the sides to make them a bit wider and repeated the same fabric on different parts of the shirts as applications.

The opportunities can be 'endless'.

I think in my case it was a good idea I am proud of my 'new' tops.
