Hi there guys, hope you all had a lovely Christmas time with family and friends!
Was Santa good to you this year?
He certainly was to me.He got me this Silver Stainless Steel Bracelet.

top pic (top side of the bracelet)
bottom pic (bottom side of the bracelet)

The bracelet is a mix of brushed and shiny links and has little studs on small the shiny parts. It is
2 mm thick, 9 mm wide, 19 cm long and the extra link is about 2.5 cm which extends the bracelet to 21.5 cm.

hooked safety clasp
I am not too sure but I think these hooked clasps are usually on jewellery for women, but I don't mind since I think it looks good anyways

Thanks,
        Carsten

Problems with your zip on your jacked, boots, trousers,...
it does get stuck and doesn't zip as easy or never did.

I have a great simple tip that works on metal and plastic zips
All you need candle wax!

Here are some photos I prepared to demonstrate.

stubborn zip ;-/

a simple tea light

rub the wax on to the zip

now open and close it a few times and should slide up and down easily

Thanks,

Spotted this cute sporty chic middle size handbag the other day.
Its a mixed fabric creation.

The main dark fabric is neoprene like and the brighter parts a kind of nylon. Tasteful decorated
with a medal, studs and some frills.

Why a personal shopper could make sense!
A while back a friend of mine asked me to shopping with him:

He knows as well as you do, when going shopping on the high street, and maybe going to a store that is bigger than a boutique, the shop assistants actually assisting more the shop and not you, right.

They are either busy talking among themselves, stocking up or even worse, are not around when you need them.
I think its ashamed!

Service is unfortunately not really part of many shops and if there is service, its not enough and without a smile or eye contact.

On top of this it seems more interesting to get a commission for shop assistants, then seeing a customer leaving the shop happy and convinced they bought the right clothes for themselves.

Serving a customer, advising them what's hot and what's not, do's and dont's; what goes with their body shape, eye and hair color is a very essential and more rewarding and important then just stocking up a rag. That's why its called CUSTOMER SERVICE.

Supporting and advising a customer in terms of styling or just showing him/her where one finds certain items (not just pointing into a direction, tztztzt) should be part of every floor staffs work routine.
Being part of his/her shopping process is so much fun and the reason a shop assistant is on the floor.

I assure, if a customer is treated properly and honest and gets proper customer service, he will come back and spend more money, even if the shop wasn't that tidy or stock was missing. They might buy something else or don't mind coming back as long as they feel that they are important to you, to the shop/store and that they can trust you.Which in turn might have an impact on your commission as floor staff.

Okay enough of that and back to my friend Michael who will tell you now about his experience when going shopping with me.

Michael

"I usually would have left the shop after trying on two pieces, as the changing rooms are to far away and it would be more like going on a hike than a shopping.
On top of this I don't find my way around as easy as Carsten does or did."

"He walked ahead while I was browsing a little and checked out where to find what, after checking in with me what I was looking for on that day.

I was looking for Jeans in the first place and a few tops, mainly t's though.
Arriving in the Jeans corner first, Carsten was flying around after checking my size and what type of Jeans would suit my body shape, as I have fairly strong thighs and am also quite tall.

As in many shops, it was impossible even with Carsten's help to find a pair of Jeans for me.
So we went over to the t-shirt section, I picked a few I liked myself and headed direction changing rooms."

"Carsten honestly agreed or disagreed with my choices regarding shapes, style and color of the t-shirts.
If it didn't fit or wasn't the right color or shape, he would gave his honest opinion and would go and find the correct size etc to swap the items for me.
He also introduced me to some new colors or styles of t-shirts."

"The shop girls or boys would have never had the time or the patience to actually help me or assist me and on top of that I often feel they just agree with what I say and don't really respond to my needs.
I know it was only t-shirts that I bought, but Carsten saved me an awful lot of hassle.
I stayed in the changing area while he was organizing and even linking in with the floor staff for me.
All I had to do was trying on, liking or disliking an item and go and pay.
I call that stress free shopping.
Thanks for that Carsten"

Alteration tips

Okay guys, back to basics after the exciting days at Dublin Fashion Festival

Shopping for a business suit is never easy, right guys.
Well, here some tips when buying a men's suit.

Again, it is important to know your size and if you are a short, regular or long.
( I posted a size chart, label 'Tools' on Sunday 02.09.12 )

The Short, Regular, and Long refers to the sleeve and trunk length of the jacket and the length of the trousers.
The number in the sizing of the jacket is referring to chest size and as for the trousers it is referring to the waist size and inner leg measurements.

NOTE, some stores allow to mix jackets and trousers in different sizes and lengths.

The sleeves should be approx a finger width above the thumb knuckle.

When it comes to the length of the trousers, always consider the shoes you would wear with the suit.

too long ;-/

correct length ;-)

And in case you want to let out a bit in your suit trouser. Check if the waist has enough fabric to make it wider.

Thanks,
       Carsten
